IOBY's Convening In Detroit event, was another remarkable reflection of the incredible talent and undeniable passion that continues to thrive within the 313. Sharing space with so many local Detroiters, who are deeply invested into the history and future of this city, further amplified my hometown pride. Much love to the IOBY team for providing me with the wonderful opportunity to document this inspirational gathering. Also if you're looking for a crowdfunding platform that is deeply invested into community-based development, please check out IOBY.org.

"This month long contemporary art exhibition, taking place from January 28th to March 3rd is a collaborative effort between The Carr Center and Stay Laced to bring a fresh perspective on the current topics of racial tension in America. Black Identity: Redefining the Black Body will feature the work of over a 30 local Detroit artists all centered on the stereotypically viewed black body, focusing on visual language, and the current negatively impressed image of blacks in American culture. This exhibition will showcase how this current misunderstanding can be shifted to truthfully relay a new message of the black body"
When Detroit's creative community connects, it's always an epic experience. Shout out to everyone involved in putting this amazing networking event together (including Verizon) and a special thank you to Frank Clark for inviting me. I'm looking forward in reconnecting with my fellow 313 creatives, at the next #ConnectDetroit
